Welcome to the 2004 Downrite Drilling Fishing Page

This page is for your enjoyment.
Whether you know the feeling of "fish on" or not.
Check-out the photos, have a good time visiting this fishing page,
and phone me in plenty of time to reserve your special place at next year's
Downrite Drilling Fishing Derby.

The Downrite Drilling Fishing Derby
Downrite Drilling puts on an annual fishing derby on the Chilliwack/Vedder river system.
This derby is open to all Geotechnical and Environmental company employees that have included Downrite Drilling Ltd. in their projects.

Derby Fishing can be done up-river from shore or in waders,
or in the lower canal by trolling or casting from boats.

The 2004 Derby Results (Held on Saturday, October 23)
Fall of 2004 was an awful year for planned fishing. You could not forcast (a good term for fishing), what the day would be like. Fish came in good numbers, but nature came in bad extremes— for fishers, the rain was too much and the tides were too high, for good fishing.

So I held-off on the Derby until there was a possiblity of a decrease in rain and tides— and Holy Macrel, the fishing gods cracked a smile. Saturday, October 23, was a patchy day with only a little rain— and Downrite Derby-day became a happy event for all.

This year's Contestents were:

Paul Hughes
Ross Corrigan
Tom Bryski
Brian Mylleville
Adrian Hanson

The Prizes

I give special thanks to Fred's Custom Tackle of Chilliwack BC
for a cost break on prizes, a donation of hats, and a Tee-shirt.

First Place Winner: Brian Mylleville received:

a rod & reel, and rod-case
hat and tee-shirt
for a 71/2 pound hatchery Coho

Second Place Winner: Tom Bryski received:

a tackle box and a hat
wild Coho released, witnessed by Bryan Mylleville

The remainder of the prizes were drawn upon as no other fish were landed that day.
Too bad, but we still had a great time.

Food
all of us would like to thank Ben Timms

For catering and barbequing— along with some great stories he shared with us all.

Another big thanks goes to the Rypma Fishing Team, consisting of Gerrit and Raymond,
for letting us enjoy their only catch of the day, at the barbeque.
