The lower Vedder Canal
had Coho appearing very early in mid-August, and their run was
joined with many Pinks and some Springs!
The upper Vedder Canal and Vedder River
itself, has had very low water from the Bailey Bridge up to the
Vedder Road Bridge. This presents excellent trolling and casting
opportunities in the deeper pools, as fish are schooling-up and
waiting for rain. The date of Saturday,
September 29th, was chosen so Pink and Coho
could be targeted at the same time. We should be rewarded on
Saturday, September 29th,
with many fish of mixed species.
Prizes
for all, but the goal is a
hatchery Coho!
As in past years, there will be boats available
for those who want to go trolling or casting.
An experienced captain will be in each boat. We welcome back
past contestants as well as new anglers. Those who want to fish
on their own are just as welcome but they should contact Bill as
soon as possible to enter the derby.
You can reach Bill by Email;bill@downritedrilling or
call 604-823-4086 or
page Bill by entering your phone # at 604-975-0678.
