I'm putting together
a fishing derby for anyone interested in coming out for good
times and great food and beverages.
There are several ways to fish that day. Downrite will have fishing
boats with experienced fishers aboard to take you trolling or casting
on the Vedder Canal.
Boats will leave the
Launch Area as soon as you are ready.
This should be before
7am if you want to get the morning fish.
Of course
before 7am is the best time for anything, right?!
The number of boats will depend on the number of people want to
do this----
So I ask you to page me ASAP (My pager is: 1-604-975-0678)
If you want to do your
own thing, you can also fish the Chilliwack/Vedder Canal system
that morning till about noon (or one in the afternoon)
When we can all meet back at Downrite Drilling's Yarrow location
for some Official Weigh-Ins and great barbecued food and camaraderie!!!
Of course anyone not wanting to fish can come to the barbecue
and still tell an entertaining "fish-story" and even if you don't
want to tell a "fish-story" you should come to listen and eat the
freshest-ever Coho Barbecued Salmon!!!
Registration is not
necessary, but please inform me of your attendance before Wednesday,
September 17th.
For your information:
Only Hatchery Coho may be kept. The Wild Coho (which will not be
measured or weighed), must be quickly released back into the
water to avoid stressing. (And there will be a fisher aboard if
you don't know Hatched from Wild).
Everyone fishing must
have a licence. If you don't have an annual licence, Day Licences
can be purchased at a local sports fishing shop. I have extra
rods-- Just tell me if you need one.
So I certainly look
forward to see you on Downrite's Fishing Derby Day-- If not fishing
at least having a great time at the barbecue and enjoying the prizes.
